A New Version of Orpheus.

Hello. My name is Orpheus. I know it is a strange name for someone in 2010, but my parents love Greece. I guess the name fits me because I am very good at playing the guitar. Anyway, to earn money, I play guitar on the streets. Well, one day, I say the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She came to me and said,"What's your name?""Orpheus""Well, Orpheus, my name is Eurydice.""Are your parents greek lovers to?""Yes.""Well maybe we can go out sometime.""I'd like that." So we exchanged phone numbers. On the next friday we went to chinese food. As we were walking out, some college boys came out and took Eurydice. I ran after them, but they got away. I went home, got my guitar and my phone, and I was off. Luckily I could track her by the GPS on her phone. I got to the gang's hideout. Their leader said,"It's no use, I'm not letting her go." So, I started to play the best music I knew. For 30 minutes, I played. After then, the boss said,"I'll let you take her to were she lives. If you look back or try to communicate in any way, she dies." So, I agreed. We walked for 15 minutes I recognized the buildings. We were near Eurydice's home. I was starting to doubt the gangsters were still following us. So, I turned around, and a gunshot could be heard for miles. Eurydice's dead, bloody body was lying on the street.

Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar was important for many reasons. Before Julius Caesar was a senator, the Rome senate was a disaster. But Julius Caesar was a strong leader, and he fixed Rome. When his time as a senator ended, he somehow became the third consul. When the year was over, Julius Caesar became governor of Gaul. When he captured Western Europe, Caesar became one of the most popular men in Rome. Then he was ordered to leave his army and come back to Rome. But Caesar did not. Instead, he ignored the Senate and fought with Pompey's army. After the battle, Caesar took over Italy and Pompey hid in Greece. Then Pompey fled to Egypt. When Caesar went to Egypt, Ptolemy XIII gave Pompey's head to Caesar.

Hector

I don't think that Hector should have fought Achilles because Hector knew he would not survive. Hector said he would kill Achilles, but Hector was the one who got killed. I think Hector fought Achilles because he wanted to destroy the biggest threat.

The Myth Of Osiris

Hello. My name is Osiris. I am the Egyptian god of The Underworld. Let me tell you how I became the lord of The Underworld. My mother, Nut was not supposed to have any children because there was a prophesy that a son of Nut would overthrow Ra, the head god. So Ra said she couldn't have any children on any night or day of the year, which was 360 days. So Nut made 5 more days and gave birth to a child on each day. First it was me, Osiris. Then, my brother, Set. After him, my sister Isis. Then my other sister, Nepthys. Last, but not least, My brother Horus. In some stories, it is said that Horus is my son. Then, I defeated Ra and I became king. For many years I ruled, and all was well. I had married Isis, and set married Nepthys. Horus stayed single. Then, after many years of jealousy, Set killed me by chopping me up and scattering me across the world. Then, he became the king. (Usually gods can't killed.) I went down to the Underworld, but Isis collected all my parts and brought me back to life. Then, Set killed me again. When I went back to the Underworld, I became the king there. I made Anubis, the jackal-headed god my apprentice. Ammit the Devourer ate the hearts of bad souls, so they had no chance of an afterlife. The way we knew if the soul was bad was by weighing it with the Feather of Truth. If the heart weighed more, the soul was bad. If it weighed less, the soul was good. Up on Earth, Horus was training so he could challenge Set to a fight for the title of king. When the fight came, Horus felt like he could win. And he did. He earned the title of king. So, in the end, I was a king any way. That is how I became King of the Underworld.

greek monolouge

My name is Hades.Yeah I was in that Disney movie. You might think I'm a bad guy because I tried to kill Heracles a bunch of times. Still, Heracles Killed a bunch of my monsters. Well, for those of you who haven't seen the movie, I'm the god of death. My dad, Kronos, was a not the greatest guy. He ate me and my other siblings, except Zeus. My mom, Rhea, was very nice. I wish we had more quality time. Mt brothers are Zeus and Poseidon. Luckily, they don't try to eat me. I would just give them a cramp. My sisters are Hera,Hestia, and Demeter. I don't like Demeter, and she doesn't like me. Just because I kidnapped her daughter, she hates me. Hera is just plain rude to me. Hestia doesn't mind me, and she is nice. So, Hestia is my favorite sibling. I live down in the Underworld. The Underworld will kill a mortal if they spend too much time there. My crown lets me melt into the shadows. It also makes you think of your worst nightmares. Sometimes my life is boring, and sometimes I enjoy torturing poor souls who don't do anything. So, I guess my life is pretty boring. Still. I may cause a few major earthquakes, even though thats Poseidon's job.

kings unify Egypt

Around 3100 BCE, Menes became king in Upper Egypt. He wanted to connect Upper and Lower Egypt. So, Menes took control of Lower Egypt. To strengthen his control, he married a Lower Egypt princess. He also combined the crowns from Upper and Lower Egypt. Menes started the first Egyptian dynasty. Historians think that Menes was the first Pharaoh. Pharaoh means "great house."

Gilgamesh 3

At first, Gilgamesh was not a hero. He was a jerk. he did not treat others well. He was not respected. But everything changed when Enkidu came. They fought, but then became good friends. The pair grew bored in Uruk. They went to fight the monster Hambaba. When they killed Hambaba, Gilgamesh and Enkidu were treated like heroes. I think at first Gilgamesh was not a hero, but in the end he was.

Gilgamesh 2

The setting was Uruk, 2500 B.C.E. The rising action is when Enkidu comes to Uruk. Gilgamesh and Enkidu fight, but they become good friends. The climax is going to the woods to fight Hambaba. The falling action is when Gilgamesh and Enkidu go home. Enkidu dies of a fever. Gilgamesh is afraid of dying, so he goes to a man named Utnapishtun to learn how to be immortal. Gilgamesh must find a special plant and eat it. But, he fails. In the end, Gilgamesh learns everyone must die.

Gilgamesh 1

I think the message is that if you take risks, good things may happen if you succeed. At first, Gilgamesh was not liked. Then he fought Enkidu, who could have killed him. Instead, Gilgamesh an Enkidu became best friends. Then they fought Hambaba. They could have died, but they saved the forest. At the end, Gilgamesh was well liked.

problems in mespotamia

In Sumer, things are a lot harder than in the mountains. One of the worst parts is the flooding. It has killed several farmers who tried to farm in the moist land. There is also a lot of heat.It has dried up some water that we need. I don't know if we can survive any longer.
